After-sales service

Out-of-warranty support

The maintenance and restoration of your Akrone watch is carried out in our Nantes workshop*.

Average lead times are 9 to 15 weeks. This is due to several reasons:

  • some repairs require time and great precision,
  • we voluntarily limit the number of jobs taken in order to guarantee the quality of the work and avoid congestion in the workshop,
  • Some parts must be ordered from our suppliers, with lead times varying depending on their availability.

Only a few watches can be serviced each month. No service is available in November and December or during the summer closure. We encourage you to plan ahead with your request.

Apart from the warranty, simple maintenance can also be entrusted to a local watchmaker.**

*Subject to component availability. **Spare parts are not supplied to workshops outside Akrone.

Warranty support

If the defect is covered by the warranty , the repair is carried out free of charge *.
The average turnaround time is 2 to 5 weeks, depending on the type of problem and the time period.

However, damage caused by misuse, shock, accidents, or by a third party is not covered by the warranty . In this case, repairs are still possible, but will be charged. You will then need to fill out the out-of-warranty form so that we can process your request quickly. You can also contact your insurance company if necessary.

Report a loss, theft or resale

A lost or stolen watch is never covered by the watch warranty . In this case, only your insurance can compensate you.

You can, however, report the loss, theft , or resale of your watch to us by sending your invoice and warranty card via the Make a request button. This will prevent an alert from being displayed during a future service if the name of the current owner is different from the original purchaser.

Your statement will be recorded: if the watch reappears (in our workshop, on the second-hand market or as part of an official procedure), we will contact you.

Each Akrone watch has a unique, engraved serial number, which guarantees its authenticity and facilitates tracking.

Your Akrone watch is built to last.

Regular maintenance is enough to maintain the performance of your Akrone watch.
Follow a few simple guidelines to space out servicing—and extend its lifespan.

Magnetic field

Avoid magnetic fields

Magnetic fields can affect the movement and setting of your watch.
Keep it away from powerful sources: speakers, telephones, computers, security gates, household or office appliances.

Shocks

A mechanical movement is a precision mechanism. To preserve it, avoid any shock or vibration.
Remove your watch before any risky activity (sport, DIY, gardening, etc.).

Crown

The crown is the button located on the side of the case. When properly closed, there should be no gap between the crown and the case.
Depending on the model, push it in or screw it in (by applying pressure and turning clockwise) to ensure a tight seal.
Always handle the crown with care.

Joints

Seals wear out over time. Have your watch's water resistance checked regularly.
Avoid contact with hot water: Do not wear your watch in the shower or bath. Heat can damage the seals and internal lubricants.

Cleaning

Steel or rubber bracelets, as well as waterproof watches, can be cleaned in cold or lukewarm water with a little Marseille soap. Dry with a soft cloth.
For leather straps, avoid contact with water. Condition the leather regularly and alternate with other straps to extend its lifespan.

Grooves

Micro-scratches may appear on steel surfaces over time.
They can be reduced using a suitable polishing cloth, which should be used with care.

Chemicals

Avoid contact with chemicals: solvents, detergents, perfumes, cosmetics, hydroalcoholic gel or fuel vapors.
They can degrade the case, bracelet, bezel, gaskets or surface treatment of the glass.

Temperature

Avoid sudden temperature changes.
Do not expose the watch to temperatures above 60°C or below 0°C.
Heat and UV rays can affect movement oils, seals and color stability.

Revisions

By respecting the principles of use for an automatic watch, no servicing is generally necessary before 4 to 5 years.
In the event of intensive or inappropriate use, a preventive check is recommended before this period: chronocomparator test and verification of watertightness.
Improper use may result in higher maintenance costs.
