What are “Special Projects”

Bespoke watches for professionals and organisations

Since 2015, AKRONE has completed more than 100 bespoke watchmaking projects for military units, airlines, companies and organisations, mainly based on the C-02, C-03 and C-04 collections.

Each project is approached as a full technical brief: functional, identity-driven and deliverable-focused.

How does the pre-order process work?

Pre-order production — how it works

The project is presented before production begins. Participants place and pay for their orders in advance, and production starts once the ordering period has closed.

Lead time: approximately 10 to 12 months from design to delivery.

What elements can be customised?

Customisation options depending on volume (from a minimum of 30 pieces for C collections)

  • All order volumes: bespoke dial and engraved caseback
  • Up to 99 pieces: dial and caseback customisation
  • From 100 pieces: extended customisation at no additional cost — hands, bezel, case finishes and strap or bracelet

Each project is tailored to reflect the visual identity of the group.

What is the minimum order quantity required to launch a project?

If the minimum threshold is not reached, the project is cancelled at no cost.

Design fees may apply to certain private-label requests.

How much does a bespoke project cost?

Bespoke project pricing

The price per watch depends on the base model — C-02, C-03 or C-04 — and on the options selected.

Excluding specific additional options, bespoke versions are priced in line with our public collections, despite their exclusive nature.

Project support, guidance and production of the limited edition are included.

A detailed pricing sheet is provided from the very first exchange.

What does your turnkey support include?

A project managed from start to finish

How long does the process take?

Lead time: 10 to 12 months

Based on the C-02, C-03 or C-04 collections.

Development or production contingencies may occasionally extend this timeframe.

Can you develop a watch from an entirely bespoke technical platform, rather than using the existing C models as a base?

Development on a dedicated technical platform — full custom project

This is possible, as demonstrated by the SpaceFox project: the technical platform, design and engineering are developed entirely from scratch for the project.

  • Minimum volume: 450 to 500 pieces
  • Two-stage quotation: design and development first, followed by manufacturing and assembly
  • Lead time: 18 to 24 months
  • Commercialisation: launch support can also be provided once the project is completed, including photography and a web kit, available by quotation

1/ Initial Discussions

Project scoping

  • Authorisations: before submitting your project, make sure you have obtained all necessary approvals — image rights, authorisation to proceed with the project and approval of any materials used. Responsibility for obtaining these permissions lies with the project lead.
  • Fixed deadline: plan ahead — the manufacturing and assembly process requires a minimum lead time of 10 months.

2/ Initial Design Proposals

Project brief approval

  • Full project presentation including the initial design proposals
  • Review rounds and adjustments until final approval
  • Design and development package available depending on project complexity — quotation provided on request
3 months
3/ Project Approval

Pre-registration — no commitment

This stage allows us to measure genuine interest before opening pre-orders.

If the minimum threshold is not reached, the project is cancelled.

10 month
4/ Production

Production launch

  • Minimum required: 30 pieces — C-02, C-03 and C-04 automatic models
  • Lead time: 6 to 7 months, excluding unforeseen technical delays
  • Adjustments may be made during the manufacturing process

5/ Assembly & Delivery

Assembly and delivery

  • Assembly, regulation and testing carried out in our workshop
  • Final quality control before shipment
  • Delivery date communicated 24 hours before dispatch
  • Tracking number and security code provided by the carrier once the shipment has been collected
