BUILT FOR DIVING
For more than 10 years, AKRONE has been developing diving watches shaped by real-world use.
Deep-diving expeditions, projects carried out with professional and military divers, and development work in Nantes have gradually defined the way we approach the design of a dive watch.
The C-02 was born from this experience.
A collection designed as a true tool watch, with two complementary approaches: Nérée, more versatile for everyday wear, and TACTIK, developed for more technical use.
FROM DIVING TO TOOL WATCH
At AKRONE, the number 02 identifies our diving universe.
Since our earliest collections, this family has been dedicated to watches designed for underwater environments.
Very early on, they were put to the test in real conditions: La Mescla at –267 metres, followed by the Red Lake in Croatia, before this work continued through projects with mine-clearance divers, French Navy Commandos, submariners and customs divers.
Their requirements are practical: legibility, visibility in the dark, ease of bezel operation, robustness and simplicity of use.
We do not set out to reproduce the visual codes of diving. We design from its real constraints.
PRECISION & RELIABILITY
MOVEMENTDepending on the version, C-02 models notably use Sellita mechanical movements.
In Nantes, the relevant movements are manually regulated and individually tested in six positions.
For the models concerned, our stated target is between –4 and +6 seconds per day.
The ISO 6425 standard for diving watches also serves as a working reference for areas such as water resistance, dive-time measurement and legibility in the dark.
Each new generation therefore allows us to evolve the C-02 around the same principle: adapting the watch to the way it is intended to be used.
FUNCTION FIRST
Underwater, a watch must communicate information before it tells a story about diving.
Dial legibility, hand contrast, low-light readability, bezel grip and overall ergonomics are all developed with this objective in mind.
The C-02 features an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Depending on the version, the bezel may feature a ceramic or sapphire insert, certain components may receive a DLC coating, and high-performance Super-LumiNova® ensures essential information remains visible in the dark.
But the C-02 is more than the sum of its materials.
The case, dial, hands, bezel and overall balance on the wrist are developed together.
Function shapes the watch. Design gives it its character.
FROM IDEA TO REFINEMENT
Feedback from divers only matters if it can lead to tangible improvements.
That is the role of our Nantes workshop.
Legibility, ergonomics, materials, water resistance and movement performance: the lessons learned from our projects directly inform the development of each new generation of C-02.
In Nantes, we develop the models, their technical drawings and specifications. The components are then manufactured by specialised partners before arriving at our workshop.
Each C-02 is individually assembled, regulated and inspected there.
And the work continues after delivery: maintenance and after-sales service are also handled in Nantes.
From diver feedback to the refinement of each new generation, our workshop connects real-world experience with the C-02 we deliver.
