AKRONE WARRANTY CONDITIONS

AKRONE watches are manufactured with passion, in accordance with the most demanding quality standards of French watchmaking. Each piece undergoes multiple checks during manufacturing, assembly, and before shipping.

1. LEGAL WARRANTY AND AKRONE COMMERCIAL WARRANTY

1.1 LEGAL WARRANTY OF CONFORMITY (2 YEARS)

In accordance with articles L.217-3 et seq. of the Consumer Code, every consumer benefits from a legal warranty of conformity of two (2) years from delivery, covering defects of conformity existing at the time of delivery.

1.2 AKRONE COMMERCIAL WARRANTY (ADDITIONAL 1 YEAR)

In addition, AKRONE grants an additional commercial warranty of one (1) year, bringing the total warranty period to three (3) years (i.e., 36 months) from the date of delivery, for both mechanical watches and watches equipped with a quartz movement.

This commercial warranty applies without prejudice to legal warranties.

Please note:
Specific benefits granted to the original purchaser, such as the commercial warranty extension, promotional offers, or discount codes, are not transferable in case of resale on the second-hand market.

Any attempt at fraud or deception, including the falsification of an invoice or warranty certificate, identity theft, or the presentation of false information, may result in the nullity of the commercial warranty.

1.3 SCOPE OF THE WARRANTY

The warranty covers defects in materials and manufacturing affecting the proper functioning of the watch under normal conditions of use, as defined in AKRONE documentation, including the user manual or FAQ.

1.4 STARTING POINT OF THE WARRANTY

The warranty takes effect from the date indicated on the warranty certificate, duly completed by AKRONE. During the warranty period, and upon presentation of a valid certificate (invoice + warranty card), AKRONE undertakes to repair any covered defect free of charge. However, the availability of spare parts remains limited in time.

1.5 REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT

If the watch cannot be restored to normal operating condition, AKRONE will replace it with an identical model or one with similar characteristics.

Any repair or replacement carried out during the warranty period does not extend its duration, unless required by mandatory legal provisions.

1.6 WARRANTY EXTENSION IN CASE OF IMMOBILIZATION

In accordance with article L.217-16 of the Consumer Code, if, during the commercial warranty period, the watch undergoes a repair requiring immobilization for at least seven (7) days, the remaining warranty period will be extended by that amount. This period runs from the request for intervention or the watch being made available for repair.

2. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

The AKRONE warranty does not cover:

  • inappropriate use or lack of maintenance, including failure to comply with maintenance recommendations, periodic services, or water-resistance checks
  • failure to check or service according to AKRONE recommendations, particularly regarding water resistance or movement adjustment
  • exposure to intense magnetic fields, including loudspeakers, refrigerators, computers, telephones, or airport security gates, beyond the limits indicated in the model's technical sheet
  • normal wear and aging, including scratches on the crystal, alteration of color or materials, and more generally the normal evolution of components over time
  • batteries, considered consumables, as well as their normal wear, normal autonomy, normal exhaustion, or routine replacement
  • straps and accessories, particularly in leather, nylon, or rubber, considered consumables subject to wear over time, daily wear, friction, perspiration, humidity, water, UV rays, temperature variations, or natural aging of materials; these elements are not covered by the commercial warranty, except for defects in conformity covered by legal warranties or manufacturing defects affecting an essential component of the product at the time of purchase
  • damage resulting from incorrect, abusive use, or an accident, including dropping, impact, crushing, broken glass, or immersion beyond the announced limits
  • visible defects not reported within three (3) days of receipt
  • indirect or consequential damages related to the use, non-functioning, or lack of precision of the watch
  • interventions carried out by a third party not approved by AKRONE or any unauthorized modification, including opening the case back altering water resistance, modification of internal parts, or any unapproved customization
  • theft, loss, force majeure, natural disasters, or any event beyond AKRONE's responsibility
  • any attempt at fraud or abusive use of the warranty, including false statements, falsification of documents, or repeated claims concerning excluded damages

Important: Any unauthorized intervention or attempt at repair by a third party voids the warranty.

3. LEGAL WARRANTY OF CONFORMITY AND WARRANTY AGAINST HIDDEN DEFECTS

3.1 LEGAL WARRANTY OF CONFORMITY

The legal warranty of conformity, provided for by articles L.217-3 et seq. of the Consumer Code, applies when a sales contract is concluded between a professional and a consumer, and covers defects of conformity existing at the time of delivery.

Note: In the absence of a commercial transaction involving financial consideration, for example in the context of lotteries, contests, donations, product testing for influencers, or free giveaways, no sales contract being formed, the legal warranty of conformity does not apply, including in the case of resale on the second-hand market.

3.2 WARRANTY AGAINST HIDDEN DEFECTS

Goods remain covered by the warranty against hidden defects, as provided for in articles 1641 et seq. of the Civil Code, provided that the alleged defect renders the product unfit for its intended use and that this defect existed before delivery.

4. SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Movement Drift: Each mechanical movement is adjusted for optimal precision. Drift tolerances are indicated in the technical data sheet of each model. Certain external factors, such as magnetic fields or shocks, can influence precision without constituting a defect covered by the warranty.

Water Resistance: Water-resistance gaskets must be checked annually. Any water or dust infiltration due to lack of maintenance is excluded from the warranty.

Straps and Accessories: These elements are not covered by the commercial warranty as consumable items subject to normal wear, except in the event of a manufacturing defect affecting an essential component of the product at the time of purchase or a defect of conformity covered by legal warranties.

Battery: For models equipped with a quartz movement, the battery is considered a consumable. Its normal wear, normal autonomy, normal exhaustion, routine replacement, and associated costs are at the customer's expense. However, this exclusion does not deprive the customer of their rights under legal warranties if the observed failure results from a defect in conformity of the Product at the time of delivery.

Repatriation Costs: The coverage of after-sales service and any return costs is determined exclusively with regard to the initial delivery country or zone of the Product. If intervention is requested from a territory other than that of the original delivery, return, transport, or repatriation costs remain at the customer's expense.

Authenticity and Warranty Certificate Check: AKRONE reserves the right to request presentation of any proof of purchase or official warranty certificate to verify the authenticity of the product and validate the warranty.

5. ASSIGNMENT AND RESALE OF AKRONE WATCHES

5.1 NON-ASSIGNABLE BENEFITS

Specific benefits granted to the original purchaser, such as the commercial warranty extension, promotional offers, or discount codes, are not transferable in case of resale. The initial sales contract being nominative, no commercial benefit follows the product in case of resale.

5.2 AKRONE'S NON-RESPONSIBILITY

AKRONE declines all responsibility regarding transactions carried out on the second-hand market. The seller and buyer are invited to verify identity, good faith, and the absence of resale restrictions, particularly for special projects or military models. No claim can subsequently be made to AKRONE in this regard.

6. IMPLEMENTATION OF THE COMMERCIAL WARRANTY

To claim the commercial warranty, the buyer must:

  • contact AKRONE by e-mail at: ilovewatches@akrone.fr
  • fill out the online form, if applicable
  • attach all necessary supporting documents, including proof of purchase (invoice or equivalent) and the warranty card

No duplicate will be provided. The invoice is sent by e-mail after purchase and remains accessible on the customer account, if applicable. After checking the watch and the validity of the warranty, AKRONE undertakes to carry out repairs as soon as possible, in accordance with these conditions.

6.1 RETURN SHIPPING COSTS

Return shipping costs are covered by AKRONE only within the initial delivery zone and provided that the repair is actually covered by the warranty. The customer must provide the required supporting documents, including the shipping invoice. Outside this zone, return shipping costs remain at the customer's expense.

6.2 PROCESSING TIMES

Depending on the nature of the intervention, a period of 9 to 15 weeks may be necessary, particularly for a complete overhaul or in case of unavailability of specific parts. AKRONE makes every effort to process each after-sales service request as quickly as possible.

6.3 WARRANTY REFUSAL

If, following the expert assessment, the observed breakdown or defect falls under an exclusion mentioned or results from obvious fraud, including falsification or abusive use, AKRONE reserves the right to refuse coverage under the warranty and/or to claim payment of the costs incurred for the expert assessment or repairs carried out.

6.4 EXPERTISE FEES IN CASE OF NON-COVERED DEFECT

If, after examination, the alleged breakdown or defect does not fall within the scope of the warranty, AKRONE reserves the right to charge the customer for the expertise or estimate fees incurred to establish the diagnosis. The amount of these fees will be communicated to the customer beforehand and may vary depending on the complexity of the intervention.
